WAKE UP ANDERSON MILL!!
This week you received your Williamson County Property Tax Appraisal. Were you surprised? How would you feel if the taxes were $200 higher? How about $500 or $1000? This is the reality Anderson Mill residents will face.
How will this additional tax affect the your property value over a comparable property outside of Anderson Mill?
With a current tax rate of $0.46, and annual tax revenues of $2MIL, how is the MUD going to continue to provide the current level of services with the minimum $0.10 tax rate? Well, they may for a year or two with the $10MIL surplus fund, but for 10 years? It's not possible.
The annual cost of our trash collection went up more than 30% this year. With the steep increases in the cost of diesel fuel and landfill airspace, an escalation of 50% for 2009 can be expected.
Per the MUD's budget provided to the City of Austin for the required service plan - the parks and pools cost $1.5 Million a year.
The Anderson Mill Neighborhood Association aka AMNA, President Phil Denney advises to not to worry about it now, wait until the MUD Board comes back with their final budget. You can't afford to wait.
cleanupthemud.org is against the double taxation that the AMMUD Board is purposing. IF the property owners of Anderson Mill approve a Limited District, the Limited District Board would tax property an additional $0.10 to $0.50 per $100.00 of value. This will be over and above what you will pay to the City of Austin for property taxes and it will be for 10 or possibly even 20 years!
cleanupthemud.org wants to stop paying others to find alleged deed restriction violations. The current AMMUD Board is using broad interpretations of the limited deed restrictions violations to harass residents with threats of legal action.
cleanupthemud.org (CUTM) was created 4 years ago by Anderson Mill residents who were concerned about the lack of engagement between the AMMUD and it's residents. Much like what recently took place with the Pedernales Electric Cooperative Board of Directors and it Shareholders, CUTM strives to provide options that remain to and directly impact you and offer you an opportunity to make an informed decision, despite the efforts of the AMMUD Board.
